A sprayed finish is tough, but it is at its most vulnerable in the first few weeks. Look after it properly and it will stay looking new for years.
The first two weeks
The coating is touch dry quickly but keeps hardening for a while afterwards. During that period, wipe spills away gently with a soft damp cloth, do not scrub, and keep tape, sticky hooks and heavy items off the doors.
Everyday cleaning
- Use a soft microfibre cloth with warm water and a little washing up liquid
- Dry the surface afterwards rather than leaving it wet
- Deal with cooking splashes the same day so grease does not build up
What to avoid
- Bleach, oven cleaner and anything containing ammonia
- Cream cleaners, scouring pads and magic erasers, which are abrasive
- Steam cleaners pointed at door edges and joints
- Leaving a kettle or steamer venting directly onto a door
Small repairs
Everyday life leaves marks eventually. Because the finish is sprayed rather than wrapped, a knock can be touched in rather than needing a whole new door. Keep a note of your colour and get in touch if you ever need a panel refreshed.
