What Happens on the Day of a Kitchen Respray
Hour by hour, so you know what you are agreeing to.
On the day we arrive, protect the room, take off the doors and drawer fronts and label them, degrease and key every surface, mask the fixed panels, apply the bonding primer and then the colour coats. Doors are refitted once cured, and most kitchens are complete in 1 to 3 days.
Morning
Floors, worktops and appliances are covered first. Doors and drawer fronts come off and are labelled so each one goes back exactly where it came from.
Then the part that decides the whole job: degreasing, keying and cleaning down every surface that is going to be coated.
Middle of the day
Fixed end panels, plinths and frames are masked carefully so there are no hard lines where the coating stops.
Bonding primer goes on next, suited to the material of your doors, and is left to flash off before any colour.
Colour and refitting
Colour coats are sprayed in thin, even passes rather than one heavy coat, which is what gives a flat finish without runs.
Once cured, hinges and handles are refitted and the doors adjusted so everything sits square and closes properly.
