Sage Green Kitchen Respray

The colour we are asked for more than any other right now.

Sage green is the most requested colour in Dublin kitchens at the moment. It suits Irish daylight, works with oak floors and brass handles, and reads as calm rather than loud. It is most often used on base units and islands with a warm off white above, and costs the same as any other colour.

Why it works in Irish houses

Sage sits between a neutral and a colour. It has enough warmth to survive soft grey daylight and enough muted depth not to shout in a small room.

It also suits the materials already in most Irish kitchens: oak and walnut floors, timber worktops, and the cream and stone tiles that were fitted everywhere in the 2000s.

How to use it

On base units and the island, with warm off white wall units above, is the combination we spray most often.

A full sage kitchen works in a bright room with plenty of window. In a darker galley it is better kept to the lower half.

Finishing details

Brass or aged bronze handles are the natural pairing. Matt black works but reads colder against green.

Satin is the finish most people choose for it, since it keeps light in the room without fingerprints.
