Kitchen Respray Curing Time

Touch dry and fully cured are two different things.

A sprayed kitchen is touch dry within hours and normally usable the evening the work finishes, but the coating keeps hardening for a while afterwards. Treat the doors gently for the first couple of weeks, avoid scrubbing and avoid sticking anything to the surface.

What happens after we leave

The surface feels dry long before the coating has reached full hardness. During that window it is more easily marked than it will be later.

Normal use is fine. It is scrubbing, scraping and adhesive that cause problems in the first weeks.

  • Close doors gently rather than letting them swing
  • No adhesive hooks, tape or stickers on the fronts
  • Wipe spills with a soft damp cloth, no scouring

After it is fully cured

Once hard, the coating handles daily family use, wiping down and the usual knocks of a working kitchen.

Mild soapy water and a soft cloth remain the right cleaning method for the life of the finish.
