If your kitchen looks tired, you have two realistic choices. Respray the doors, frames and panels you already own, or take the whole thing out and start again. Both can give you a kitchen you love. They are very different in cost, time and disruption.
Cost
Most Dublin kitchens fall between €700 and €3000 for a full respray, depending on size and finish. A replacement kitchen of similar quality runs into many thousands once you add units, worktops, fitting and making good afterwards.
If the carcasses are sound and the layout works, a respray gives you the visual change for a fraction of the outlay.
Time and disruption
A respray is usually finished in 1 to 3 days. Everything is masked and protected, and you clear the worktops before we arrive. A replacement kitchen means demolition, plumbing, electrics and often a week or more without a usable room.
Waste
A full rip out sends perfectly sound units to landfill. Respraying keeps them in the house and changes only the surface you actually see. It is the greener option by a wide margin.
When a new kitchen really is the answer
- The layout does not work for how you live and you want it moved
- Carcasses are water damaged, swollen or coming apart
- Hinges, runners and fixings have failed across most of the units
- You are extending or knocking through and the room is changing shape
The short answer
If the bones are good and the colour is the problem, respray. If the bones are gone or the layout is wrong, replace. We will tell you honestly which one we think you need when we come out to quote.
